Goldie's Wood Fern, Dryopteris goldiana

This elegant portrait of the Eastern North American fern was painted from a live specimen Nick collected near his studio in Lincoln, Vermont.  It is one of the largest ferns in North America with fronds up to six feet tall.  This species was named after its discoverer, John Goldie.  The original painting used to create these prints was done in watercolor.
